Maggie's Castlemaine B&B is a ten minute
drive from beautiful historic Castlemaine. We offer a completely self contained
two story mud brick cottage. The upstairs comprises one bedroom, views at night
from the feature window are of the Southern Cross. The en-suite has a large
shower, toilet, and heated towel rack.
Downstairs; the living area comprises open plan. The kitchen features full
cooking facilities, stove, micro-wave oven, fridge, timber benches with a
beautiful wooden table and chairs. All this framed by a delightful cottage
dresser.
The living area has two two-seater couches, television, DVD player, and radio
and a collection of books and games to muse the days away. A feature of this area
is the stone fireplace and open fire. The cottage has a terra-cotta floor, rugs
and interesting leadlight windows and fittings to add to the charm.
Castlemaine is renowned for its reputation for having the largest Arts
Community in Australia. Stroll through the Botanical Gardens, designed and
planted before the Melbourne Botanical Gardens. Visit the prestigious Portrait
Collection at the Art Gallery.
Many Artists have their works displayed in exhibitions throughout the town.
These can be found woven between the coffee houses, great meeting places where
Writers, Musicians and Artists mingle to relax and exchange ideas. The
Historical Society boasts a rich library of information to excite the most
curious of visitors.
